About

Teaching Experience:

Besides teaching workshops, I have taught at the College of Marin, UC Berkeley Extension, San Francisco Art Institute, Kennedy University, California College of the Arts, Center for the Book, National Institute of Art and Disabilities and The Richmond Art Center. I have also been a visiting artist and lectured at Rollins College, Orlando,Florida, Dominican University, Sonoma State, Maine College of Art and Sierra Nevada College.

Teaching is my way of passing on my knowledge and experience of being a working artist for over 30 years. I am passionate about art making and its process. I have taught all levels of Drawing, Painting, Printing, Collage and Mix Mediums. Making art can be challenging and exciting at the same time. I believe in taking risks and thinking outside the box, letting go and keeping it fresh. Art Can Change Lives

I enjoy sharing my knowledge with others. As well as seeing if they get what I give them. I want studetns to find their own voice in their work and to discover themselves in the art process.

The lessons were very smooth yet interesting and got me to think things through in a way I dont usually. I think, as an artist, it would be beneficial to take a class from Heather every 6 months or so to keep my mind open and flexible. Loved my experience.
