Stephen Johnson has taught photography at the college level since 1977, and for the groundbreaking Kodak Center for Creative Imaging in Camden Maine (1991-93). Additionally he has taught numerous workshops for industry, designed digital photography programs, and has an ongoing photography, publishing and consulting business. He has lectured for leading digital and photographic industry forums including: Seybold, MacWorld, Image World, VISCOM, PhotoEast, PhotoWest, PhotoPlus, Fotofusion, the Agfa Technology Expo, FOGRA (Germany), Digital 95 (Great Britain), the International Symposium on Electronic Photography at Photokina (Germany), FotoMasson (Sweden), Link 2000 (London), Kodak Gold Awards (Scotland), ThunderLizard Photoshop Conferences (since 1994 in San Francisco, New York, Orlando, Monterey), Epson (Mexico City), and at prestigious educational and industry institutions including: the University of California, National College of Art (Ireland), Xerox PARC, Apple Computer, Adobe Systems, Art Center (Pasadena), San Francisco Art Institute, Santa Fe Photography Workshops, and at Stanford University. He has run his own studio and field photography workshop program since 1978.

How did you get started teaching?
I was invited to start teaching at a Community College while was still earning my BA in 1977.
Assisted on UC Santa Cruz worshops, guest lectured at Ansel Ademas workshops.

make sure they know the subject, can really teach and are kind
