Jason Jia Music Studio

Jason is a classical organist, pianist and composer based in San Francisco. He studied Music and Philosophy at Wesleyan University.

Jason offers music lessons on a variety of topics, with an emphasis on classical music. His inter-disciplinary teaching approach incorporates his knowledge in performance theories, acoustics, musicology and music production, all to enrich students' understanding of music and to further their creative efforts.

Jason is the organist at St. Francis Episcopal Church of San Francisco. He has performed solo concerts at many Bay Area venues such as Old First Presbyterian Church of SF, First Presbyterian Church of Oakland and St. Mary's Cathedral in SF.

Jason is also an experienced sound engineer for acoustic instrument and voice recording projects. He is knwoledged in using Logic Pro and GarageBand for recording and editing.

I enjoy making personal connections with my students through music. It can be therapeutic to both the student and myself. This is one of the surprising benefits of teaching I guess. My students come from all walks of lives, and they were all touched by music in a way that is uniquely meaningful to them. It is healing to share these personal meanings with each other.
