I opened the Academy of Cosmetic Arts in 1990 which was was the first and only Makeup Artist Training School in the Bay Area. The Workshops are listed as #1 in ‘Makeup Artist Magazine’. I offer Professional training and Certification for the Freelance Makeup Artist. I’ve trained aspiring Makeup Artists for jobs on my crew which includes training in Fashion and Commercial Print Work, Fashion Show, Theater, Film and Bridal Makeup which includes airbrush, lash application, brow shaping, contouring and highlighting with all the modern techniques and tricks of the trade. I also offer private one on one training for the average person who just wants a new look and to update their cosmetic kit.
These classes are held at the Academy of Cosmetic Arts or at the convenience of your home.

The Academy of Cosmetic Arts is a Licensed Establishment listed under The State Board of Consumer Affairs. All Business Permits are kept up to date.
Rose Hill is a Licensed Professional with the State Board of Barbering and Cosmetology since 1989.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
The pricing generally runs $200 per workshop depending on the content.

How did you get started teaching?
I was represented by an Agency in San Francisco where I found more and more clients looking for Makeup Crews to work in Film, Fashion Shows and Magazine work so I decided to fill this need. I opened up the Academy of Cosmetic Arts in 1989 to train aspiring Freelance Makeup Artists
What types of students have you worked with?
I’ve trained all ages of students from 12 and older of all nationalities. We specialize in ethnic Weddings as a plus.
We are also involved in many projects where students may volunteer.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
We work on weekly projects where students may volunteer, one being The Zombie Run where students re-create ‘The Walking Dead’!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure the Instructor is fully Licensed and has permits to work out of a Licensed Establishment. Check that the Instructor has a valid personal website www.makeupcrew.com
