About
I have been teaching Chinese and Violin in bay area for years. I teach after school group lessons in the elementary school, and I am also very experienced in customizing private lessons for students of different age with various needs.
My class is designed in a student-friendly way. I will always discuss your learning goals and expectations at the very beginning; I believe a mutual understanding of the big picture between the student and the teacher will serve a good start. I enjoy exchanging ideas with my students in the class and let them dive deeper into the subject through this two-way communication. In my class, you can learn with joy, making a steady progress step by step. I will also introduce a most-fit textbook to you, with plenty of supplementary learning materials provided, as well as a customized teaching plan offered based on your goals and learning progress.
Course benefits include:
- 1-on-1, or 1-on-more tailor-made executive private tutoring lessons
- Most flexible option and suited to busy lifestyles
- Having lessons on your preferred timetable
- Focusing solely on your learning requirements and obstacles
- Opportunities to practice in the class with timely feedback
In my class, students' "needs" and "wants" are prioritized. It helps students achieve their goals while combined with students' "lacks" in lesson planning. Therefore, I've gained a lot of successful teaching experiences in designing lessons targeting students' goals and expectations. My Chinese class has covered topics from kids Chinese to adult Business Chinese, and my violin lesson has helped not only young and adult students to develop a hobby but also school-age students to succeed in their school band or student orchestra.
I wish one day I could share all my learning and teaching experiences with you:)

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
In my class, students' "needs" and "wants" are prioritized. I will first talk about student's expectations and goals, and their past learning experiences, and then I will customize my class to fit their levels. Learning materials will be recommended based on student's progress, along with a wide variety of supplemental materials to further enhance their practice.
Please make sure to check the availability and talk about your learning background as well as your goals with me before purchase the lesson.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I accept cash, check or PayPal at a package base of 6-10 lessons. If you prefer to pay by each class attended, I will only accept cash payment at the end of each lesson. Please contact me for more information.
I usually offer lessons in my home studio or over internet, but If I need to travel to the student's place, extra travel fee will be charged accordingly.
What types of students have you worked with?
New beginners and beginning-to-intermediate-level students. I expect my students to commit to a certain amount of daily practice (varying by age/level) and I only accept students into my studio who demonstrate consistent effort/commitment.
