We have a private grass lesson area and the best grass driving range in the Bay Area! Our golf balls are always in perfect shape.  We provide golf clubs for all lessons. I am a certified club fitter.. I have been teaching golf for 37 years and have taought over 40,000 lessons to all ages. I’m proud of my ability to teach people with disabilities and I teach several types of golf swings including single plane, stack and tilt, Natural golf and the common two plane system..I really try to make learning golf a fun experience.Having played on the PGA TOUR, I’m very comfortable teaching good players, and also very much enjoy teaching beginners.

I enjoy my students smiling and laughing during their time with me.. you learn faster when you enjoy something. My job never gets old! I love being outdoors and I think I’m happier than my students as they improve! I work in the toy department of life, what can be better!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

Fundamentals are the key to learning any sport. In golf how you hold the club and how you stand is chapters one and two. First we need to know if there are medical needs to address. Bad backs, bad knees ,shoulders etc will dictate how a student swings a club. I love drills a student can take with them to help practice on their own. I’m a great teacher but I’m only as good as students practice habits!! With 52 years of golfing experience one swing from a student tells me where to start with the lesson. A first lesson should be kept simple but I like to improve their range of motion if possible and a good looking swing whether you hit the ball or not is always going to be better for the future. I always stay positive with my students because golf is a difficult sport for anyone just starting. We are all individuals so a great teacher learns to work with their students and not just throw a bunch of stuff at them.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

For starters, my 37 years of teaching and 50 years of playing experience is my greatest asset.  Time spent playing on the PGA TOUR was invaluable in my learning curve. Being able to chat about the game with great players such as Palmer, Player, Watson, kite, Els Norman, etc. provided me experience that only a few can have. At one time I was considered one of the best 300 players in the world,  just saying....
