About

Nothing talks better about qualification than solid certifications. As an FAA fully Certified Flight Instructor (Single/Multi-Engine, Instrument Airplane), Ground Instructor(Advanced, Instrument), and Commercial Pilot (Single/Multi-Engine, Instrument Airplane), I am more qualified than the majority of the CFIs in the market. Plus I am a previous Cessna 210M owner, who traveled most of the US and south border of Canada, and an architect with a master's degree from Cornell University — I will give you a higher level of instruction in both flight and ground lessons about not only how but also why.

Hey, I want to be not only your instructor and cultivate more great pilots, but also your friend and travel pal. Meeting interesting people, making friends and traveling to unexplored places is probably the most exciting thing about being a pilot. Who wouldn't agree?

    Frequently asked questions

I will learn the background and schedule of the student first, make lesson plans based on his/her background and arrangements that fit both of us. Then I will make a clear plan to achieve the student's goal. The part that I love about aviation is that pilots who fly together become friends, so do students and instructors.

I have been trained in Part 141 and Part 61 for Commercial Pilot Certificates (Single/Multi-Engine Land, Instrument Airplane) and Certified Flight Instructor (Single/Multi-Engine Land, Instrument Airplane). Plus, I was a previous Cessna 210M owner, which gave me a chance to travel most of the US and the south border of Canada. Compared to other CFIs, I have a lot of valuable practical experiences. Besides, I am an architect who graduated from Cornell University with a master's degree of architecture, which proves my ability of academic and mechanical knowledge — something fairly important when teaching the ground knowledge of aviation.

Currently, the market prices of CFI instruction are around $ 60-90/hr, if not more. But I will only charge $50/hr. Because by getting rid of the middlemen, I just want to make my lessons to be more affordable and efficient, for the good of my students.

I was a teaching assistant back at Cornell University for two lectures. And I also helped my father to put our family business online (www.hanmenonline.com), which is an educational institution. And I helped my father teach students whenever I became available. Then in 2020, I was in the training camp of CFI Academy in Lodi, where I finished all my CFI certifications and started teaching. Now, I believe I am experienced enough to make all aviation enthusiasts be pilots, not only private level but with instrument rating and multi-engine rating at a commercial pilot level.

I have worked with various types of students with different cultural/academic backgrounds of different ages. I am professional and respectful as you expect.

Flight training is full of traps, talk to more people to get a bigger picture before making any prompt decisions. Especially, trying to find a good honest CFI is way more important and effective than finding a high-scored so-called professional 141 school.

What is your final pilot goal, private, commercial, or airline?

For the private certificate, do you have enough time and money to finish the whole learning and testing process?

If you have any doubts, you should take a discovery flight and feel it in person.
