I am a photographer and custom printer. I have been teaching photography for as long as I can remember. I am more interested in what is happening between the ears than what equipment you own. I am a certified Adult Education Photography ninstructer and I taught photography at the Tri Community Photo Center in Covina for 6 years. I also run a custom silver lab that is a part of Weldon Lab in Culver City where I do custon film developing and silver printing up to 20x24 in. size. I am just as comfortable in the darkroom as I am in the digital world sacanning and printing.
I love any aspect of Photography. Any photographuc technique is exciting and interesting. I always learn something new and I utilize many techniques both traditional and digital. I do traditional silver developing of film and silver prints, I have a pro silver lab in Culver City and I also specialize in digital scanning and printing.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
UCLA Photography classes, I studied with Edmund Teske for 2 years and I have many years of processing silver film and printing. I also specialize in digital techniques, scanning, photographing, lighting and both silver and digital printing.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I charge125.00 per 3 hour session and I can charge full or half day rates or 70.00 per hour.
How did you get started teaching?
I am the past chair of the Camera Committee of the Los Angeles Sierra Club. I led many events for the Sierra clob and had many events for them. I haver been teaching for 30 years. I taught at the Yri Community Photo Center for 6 years until they closed. I have taught one to one and I have led many seminars.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students from teens to adults of many ages.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I went to Lancaster to photograph the super bloom and I have never seen so many flowers.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look carefully at a teachers images and experience.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
How can a teacher match what you want to learn? Whjat kind of image making is the teacher proficient doing? How long has the teacher been teaching?
