About
Why am I a qualified music educator?
I have -
- 19 years of performance experience on the piano, saxophone, and clarinet
- a Music Theory Education blog with hundreds of thousands of followers worldwide (I am not supposed to link anything in this blurb but message me if you are curious!)
- four years of success in the music industry (I've been paying my bills with music for FOUR WHOLE YEARS. WHAAAT)
- a great attitude. I'm psyched. Always.
Here's some more info how how I teach.
Teaching Method -
I structure all of my lessons around highly specific goals. For instance
- "Today you are going to lean how to play 'Golden Hour' by jvke."
or
- "Today you are going to learn how to find and play EVERY major scale"
This way, you know exactly what you are getting and we can work together towards an achievable goal with purpose and energy.
A typical lesson goes like this -
1. You tell me what you are looking to learn (either before the lesson or at the very beginning if you change your mind)
2. I give you a breakdown of all of the steps you/we will need to take to reach your learning goal.
3. We cross them off one by one (and then you surprise yourself by doing something cool at the end!)
