Dora S. says, "Mr. Spencer is an excellent acting coach for me and my daughter. He has taught us via online lessons for 9 months. But of us are beginners but we have excelled and are mastering acting quickly. Mr. Spencer is a vastly knowledgable, professional, encouraging instructor. My daughter was cast as Anne in her school's production of Diary of Anne Frank, which to me is just amazing. I have call backs myself for a role in a play at my local community theatre. Mr. Spencer is helping us realize are dreams, and to cultivate our passions. I highly recommend him." Read more

Leila K. says, "Dr. Walterman completed changed my confidence and ability to think in a growth mindset for the better. She taught me the essential skill of believing in yourself and perseverance. Through her, I learned how to accept mistakes I’ve made, tackle continuous challenges with the viola, and love myself, the music, and the instrument all while doing so. When I wanted to quit, she was there for me to tell me “if you get better one percent each day, by next year, you’ll be 365% better.” A lesson like that will stick with me for the rest of my life. Dr. Walterman focuses on the technical aspects of playing, something I struggled with getting with other teachers. She always imparts advice on how to improve while congratulating the improvements already made. I couldn’t ask for a better viola instructor! Overall, I’m very happy to have her as my teacher." Karine H. says, "I'm not a big "yelper" but this guy deserves my 5 star review. My son got a call back to audition for LACHSA, it really is a big deal for him. We had tried voice lessons in the past but my experience was an ok one, since I had no way of telling if his voice had improved or not. However I decided to give The Voice Mechanic a try, simply because I wanted him to improve my son's volume. I liked what I saw on his website but the real surprise came on the first lesson. He improved my son's voice in the first hour! He was able to teach his technique in just one session and for that I feel very grateful. In only three sessions he has helped my son's voice flourish beautifully. One of my concerns was that my son would force his voice at times, after The Voice Mechanic he can sing loud and without loosing his breath as he used to. His audition is this weekend and he's very confident he will do great! The Voice Mechanic listens to your needs and gets right down to business!" Read more

Kristin B. says, "Erica is a fantastic violin instructor whom my mother found via lessons.com back in February. She's very knowledgeable, personable, patient and a gentle soul who wants to help students achieve their best self whilst playing this beautiful instrument. I've been having lessons once a week ever since and they are very affordable, even during the pandemic (thank goodness I still have a job). I highly recommend her to anyone who's looking for an instructor." Read more

I'm a 74 year old retired man. I have always loved acting but have had some minor challenges due to bad eye sight and I'm not that computer savvy. Jim helped me learn how to use an I-pad my grand daughter gave me to help me expand fonts to read scripts. Though I'm only doing this so far for a hobby, I can see huge improvement in my ability to memorize scripts and act convincingly. Jim encouraged me to audition for the community senior center's drama club. I couldn't believe it I got right in and enjoying meeting new people (I'm widowed). Jim has been a Godsend. I'm finding new joy and I'm enjoying seeing local theatre productions. I appreciate his kind, patient, and professional matter. Acting lessons with Jim is what got me through the horrible isolation during Covid quarantine. He is also incredibly knowledgable on health such as veganism, breathing/meditation and is encouraging me to get into a healthier lifestyle. My voice/sinuses improved after giving up dairy. I used to get chronic sinusitis. So I feel acting has been beneficial to my overall health. Though Jim is pricier than other teachers in the area... I believe you pay for what you get. The extra money I pay is well worth it. The two other acting coaches I used before Jim...were mediocre and treated me like an invalid. Jim continues to inspire me to be the best I can be in all areas of my life. I consider him a good friend and he is one of the best educators out there.

Michael is a fantastic violin teacher. I felt he was clear and organized. He is also very friendly, and made me feel comfortable trying the violin for the first time! He is excellent teaching beginners to advanced students. He has advanced knowledge of the orchestral repertoire and would be a great teacher for anyone wanting to play the violin professionally. I highly recommend Michael!
