About
I teach students of all ages to reach different goals, such as Certificate of Merit, ABRSM, and various competitions. My students in the past have received county honors, state honors, and been placed 1st and 2nd places in competitions. I believe in listening to my students and understanding their passions in order to align our expectations and enjoy music together.

Miss Tina is such a nice person! She’s always patient and gentle to students while teaching. And her lecture is professional and productive. My daughter Aileen really enjoys practicing clarinet with her and with Miss Tina’s help, Aileen has established basic clarinet performance skills within a short period of time, which really impressed me.

My son is a reluctant learner who enjoys clarinet and band but hesitated to put extra effort. He really wanted to make the school adv band so I signed him up for Tinas lesson. Tina is able to motivate him so he not only made the school band audition, also multiple local youth symphony auditions. Clarinet is his second instrument but seems he enjoys it more with Tinas encouragment. Thanks Tina!

I always love the lessons taught by her. When it comes to an instrument, it’s certain you make mistakes. Though it’s quite embarrassing to feel, Ms. Tina is patient to see where you are making a mistake and regardless of how many times you get it wrong, she won’t be disappointed or have any sorts of openly negative thoughts. Her skill to teach and socialize has helped many, including me, win competitions and strengthen my techniques. She’s knowledgeable in theory and many composers, with different sorts of pieces from different composers and time period, making you have a variety of experience and expanding your skills outside where you’re comfortable.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I spend some time to get to know them, including their goals, aspirations, concerns, and anything they'd like me to know before we get started. Then I evaluate their abilities in clarinet playing, if they have never played, I would show them the basics first.
