About
I take great pride in taking my kids to the next level, be it college or beyond, as well doing it without injury.
Again to to add onto being very concerned with arm health and teaching all my kids to be their own advocate on the field. Mom and dad won't always be at the games , they need to learn when to say I'm done. If a coach sees innings in you they'll use them without regard for health. What I love most is seeing a kid who doesn't believe in his or her ability . Case In point , have a young man that's been with me 8 years. He was cut from his High School 3 times and never stopped lessons, he's playing college ball in Arizona on scholarship.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I access their ability, style arm slot which determines what pitches they can or cannot throw. Watch them throw a pen to understand what their needs are . Then Taylor a throwing program for them. I teach from the ground up, asking many questions as we go. The idea behind this is if I just tell them what to do without explaining why, it's a disservice to them.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Having had Tommy John at 19 I was damaged goods in 1980 it was just a 4 year old surgery. I chased a contract till I was 28 then went back to school. I have been through Tom Houses National Pitching association program 6 times There is no better program for working with and teaching pitching. Since 2010 I've done on average 600 lessons a year. In the last 5 years 17 of my kids have committed to play college ball, one signed with Cincinnati and should have two more drafted this coming year. I believe if parents are going to allow me to spend the time with their kids that I do , I owe it to them to be a good role model teaching good values good choices and being thankful to their parents for g them lessons.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I'm not a clock watcher $50 a session most times I go long as we are working on something and I don't like to just stop.many of my current parents will tip the catcher in appreciation.
How did you get started teaching?
After I stopped trying to play I had a family friend ask if I'd work with their son. After a few lessons I began reading everything I could get my hands on
What types of students have you worked with?
Every type of kid out there, I've even been ask to work with young lady who wanted to play High school. Many kids just want to play rec ball , most who've come to me over the years know they want to play in college or beyond. A few kids who had trouble at home with their father. I had one mother tell me she brought her son me cause was a good role model for her son.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
One of my kids who's college coaches gave up on him , we isolated his problems and corrected it , he was drafted. Another is a young man that's been with me 8 years, he was cut 3 times from his HS team . He scholarshiped and is playing in Arizona.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Be humble and grateful for getting lessons. Make sure the coach has your best interest at heart, if he's a clock watcher he doesn't.
I don't care if you're the best play on the field be humble, recognize your teammates.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What methodology do they teach ?
