About this pro

I have been painting for over 25 years and have taught fine art to children and adults for about 11 years.  I believe anyone can learn how to draw and paint if given the right skills to do so and the desire to learn.

Art and design are my passions in life and it brings me great joy not only in painting and creating but in sharing this love of art with others through teaching and selling my art pieces for them to enjoy for years.

Julie is an amazing teacher! She is very talented and is always encouraging her students to be challenged and succeed as an artist. I love the different mediums I could try and supplies if I needed anything additional. Art classes are fun, but Julie makes it that much more enjoyable!

FAQs

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

I like to see their current level of art skill, see what it is they would like to learn, and then start from there. Some of my students prefer to work in certain mediums while others have no idea where to start. If someone has never had art classes before, we will start with the basics of drawing using charcoal pencils and color with pastels and then move forward from there.  If they have a born ability to draw, I will help them build on their skills and work on pieces they feel passionate about.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have an AA and a BA in interior design and after college, I studied fine art for five years with a private art school, Mission Renaissance. During those five years as well as five years after that for a total of 10 years I taught fine art to children and adults. Since then, for the past 15 years, I have been selling my artwork in the form of commissions, originals and also murals to both businesses and individuals.
