Helping beginners catch their first wave is as much fun for me as it was the day I caught my first wave 30+ years ago. I bring a stress free, safe, and positive vibe to all my lessons. I love sharing the joy of surfing! I started surfing in the 80s when there was little support for beginners. Well, times have changed. Soft top boards and a family vibe in the water have made surfing accessable to all who want to give it a go. I have been a fixture in the local surf industry, shaping my own boards, operating a surfboard manufacturing facilty for years, and a published surfing photographer. I have two teenage children that I have taught to surf. I can teach any age and any ability level.
I absolutely love teaching people to surf. Nothing gives me more enjoyment than seeing the ear to ear grin someone gets after they get to their feet and ride their first wave.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to start the lesson process with a phone call to discuss the abilty level, equipment needed, locations for the lesson. Once we meet at the beach I like to take the time to discuss safety, water etiquitte, and wave knowledge. Once I determine your ability level I will customize the lesson to fit the next steps you should be taking to progress.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have worked in the surf industry for over 25 years as a surfboard manufacturer and surfing photographer.

$75 for 1 hour
$100 for group lessons (up to 4 students) for 1 hour
How did you get started teaching?
I have taught countless friends and family to surf. I have worked with local charities teaching the gift of surfing to youths from disadvanteged areas.
