About
It is spirit lifting to see a student's eyes light up when they realize just how powerful a voice they have. Every voice is different. We are not meant to be the same as everyone else. But we ARE meant to make the most out of what we have. This is why I teach: to be able to witness the joy in another person's voice.
Working with people and helping them find themselves.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First, I want to get to know the student since every student is different. Then I want to know what their musical goals are and the reasons they want vocal training. After that, we do some initial vocal exercises to see where their voice is at. You don't have to have aspirations of stardom in order to work with me. I like all students at all levels.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I majored in music in college where I sang and played violin. I learned music theory there. The first few years of my performing career was in dance and acting. In the late 80's I turned back to music. I have 3 vocal jazz albums and one jazz-inspired musical suite that I wrote to accompany my children's book. I have toured Europe and the U.K. playing jazz festivals and clubs and giving vocal improvisation workshops. For more information and background: https://www.tonijannotta.com/about
