About
I offer private lessons as well as a 6-month photography course. Which one is best for you? If you'd like to narrow in on one or a few specific things in a one-on-one environment, private lessons are for you. If you want to learn about everything that goes into photography (see below for what the course covers), and want to have 24/7 support, an awesome community and new friends who encourage and support you, "wrap their arms around you" when you need it and "pick you up when you fall", a community with a "no man left behind" philosophy, an awesome 5 day trip, and SOO much more, the course is for you.
The course is VERY DIFFERENT from other courses. It includes several really awesome and valuable bonuses. It’s like none other.
This course applies a “wrap around” approach where each student is immersed in a supportive community of encouraging and positive people to guide you along the way and “lift you up” as you go, and don’t allow you to “fall”. I have a “no one left behind” philosophy so no one is left behind or feels like they don’t understand something, are confused or are overwhelmed. I believe that someone can never have too much support, and this group lives that out. The support is there for anyone who wants it.
This course includes ALL of the following:
• 6 Month Course
• Exclusive access to the Private Facebook Community
• 2 Hour one-on-one in-person hands-on coaching session
• Assist on a Photo Shoot for a behind-the-scenes look and hands-on experience
• Photo session (with opportunity to invest in wall art from session)
• IMMERSION (4 Night/5 Day Trip)
• A “No one left behind” philosophy that doesn’t let anyone fall behind
• 24/7 supportive & encouraging community who helps with anything, anytime.
• Weekly accountability
• Constant support system who builds you up & holds your hand when needed
• A family-like environment that builds long-term friends
• Much more...
The Immersion trip is an awesome 4 night/5 day trip in Costa Rica! This is an awesome trip where you are immersed in photography and are applying what you’ve learned throughout the course. You will leave with a newfound confidence in your photography skills and knowledge. We’ll have plenty of time to do fun things, such as going to the beach, zip lining, exploring the jungle and rain forest, and so much more. You won’t want this trip to end.
This 6-month hands-on photography course is the most supportive and “wrap around” course out there. Students apply what you’ve learned in and out of each class through immediate application and guidance. On the following week’s class, we discuss a couple photos you took and critique them, allowing you to grow in your skills each week. I encourage students to take photos of what they enjoy photographing, not limiting them to just “portraits”, “landscape”, or architecture. You’ll be able to tailor it to your interest and “subject of choice”. We have regular photo shoots where we gather as a group, in-person or online (your choice), and take photos together to apply what you're learning while being able to get immediate feedback and coaching.
If you feel like this photography course is for you, I’d love to talk with you and answer any questions you may have. Feel free to call me at (760) 505-2665. I’m always happy to answer your questions.
Watching my students excitement when they understand what they’re learning and photography just “clicks”. I’ve had many students who struggled to learn photography. It makes my day to know that I’m helping people reach their goals.
I also love capturing memories that will last forever, and reaching my students how to do the same.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I love to talk on the phone with each new student to learn more about them, their learning style, and how I can help them and serve them.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Not only am I a professional photographer who owns a photography business, but I also went to school for photography and have completed various training's.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I do. I go over that with each student since there are a few different options.
How did you get started teaching?
I have been wanting to give back to people wanting to learn photography for a while. I've taught some friends photography who told me how easy I made it for them to learn and pleaded that I start teaching lessons.
What types of students have you worked with?
All different types. Kids, teens, and adults. People who have photographic memories to people with learning and intellectual disabilities. Fast learners and slower learners. You name them and I've taught them.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I recently had a student who really struggled in school. They were about to fail out and decided to take an elective to help get their GPA up. Something they enjoyed to do. They bought a camera and ook a photography class, but they were struggling. They told me that they didn't learn anything. They felt like it was too hard. They signed up with me, is now acing that class, understands what they're doing, and is taking photos for family and friends. They stuck with it, didn't give up and now it's paying off.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Ask them questions to get a feel for their teaching style and approach. It'll help you decide whether or not it's the right fit for you.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
I'd encourage student's to think about what they'd like to get out of the lessons. What do they want to learn? Do they want to learn photography as a hobby, or do they have a desire to be a professional photographer?
