About
I am very passionate about the game of basketball and how it relates to life in every aspect. My program stands out because I not only focus on the physical element of basketball as we will discover new skills and reads but I also focus on the mental aspect which is the broader part of the game of basketball. Our students are not only given physical homework after workouts but they will get a takeaway for life every time we depart. I am invested in the overall well-being of our student athletes.
I have been playing basketball since I was 3 years old. I played AAU basketball since I was 8 years old. I was fortunate enough to play varsity basketball all 4 years in high school in which I was a part of a state championship team. I went on to play for St. Louis Community College and Virginia State University. I love the work I do because it is not a job for me but more so a way to connect to the community through my experiences and a way to give back all of the knowledge that was passed on to me. I love being able to help our students mature on the court and in life so they understand what they do have control over, which is themselves and how they show up to do what they love. I look forward to working with you!!!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Go through a series of different skills to gage where they are in their journey. Have a tall with the player about what they want from this experience and express how they can hold themselves accountable and I can reinforce what they are holding themselves accountable to.
I like to set the expectation of a great attitude and pushing uncomfortable limits through hard work and dedication along with applying basketball skills to overall life skills.
I also go over those expectations with the parent and leave homework assignments so that their work is extended away from training days.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been in an assistant coach's role for an AAU team along with running multiple workouts for many different teams and groups. I am currently coaching a Showcase team that are ages 18-22. I have experience on every stage of the game of basketball and have professionals that I have shared the stage with and are good friends with. Basketball has been a constant throughout my life.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
My standard pricing is $50 for personal sessions and $35 for group sessions if they are available. If you would like a group session but don't have a group I will take $40 per session.
I am well aware that people are going through some financial hardships so I would like to discuss other options. I believe that the value for our students is not contingent on the amount of money a student can afford but their willingness to show up and invest in themselves so a phone call will help me understand and work with your circumstance.
How did you get started teaching?
I got started teaching when I realized that my value and purpose was built into my experiences and basketball has been a constant experience in my life. As a player, I understand that playing the game doesn't last forever and I am humbled by what the game has given me. I would love to do everything I can to pass that along.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students as young as 6 years old up to 25 years of age. I am willing to train beginners, intermediate and advanced skill based.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
When hiring a teacher, take the time to realize where they are mentally, because we are in a time right now where mental health is an ongoing conversation and something that is becoming more important everyday. Your coach is not only there to work on your game but they are also there as a valued person that will be instilling life values into your kids so don't take the mental aspect for granted.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Students should think about their commitment level to the game so that they can set a clear expectation for what they look forward to getting out of the experience and always have a WHY for whatever it is that you are taking on in life.
