About
I love to teach the harp. I work with students of all ages and abilities. My goal is to inspire you to become the best player that you can be.
Anyone can play the harp! I have worked with students who have become professional players and with those who play for their own enjoyment. You will learn a healthy hand position, how to read music, how to practice for great results and be able to play all styles of music from Celtic, Bach to Bebop, World Sounds and healing harp music.
I have harps for rent or purchase, the music, strings and accessories you need. With over 30 years of teaching and performance experience, I am well known in the harp community as a gifted leader, performer and music educator. I have served on the Board of Directors of the American Harp Society in numerous positions.
I am dedicated to your progress. You will be supported in a gentle style and motivated to play better each week as you progress at your own pace. References are available upon request. A complementary consultation is available to answer all of your questions.

I work individually with each student. I want to know what each student wants to accomplish, the types of music they like to play, if they want to consider being in competitions, etc. We start with that and lessons are planned accordingly.

I have Bachelor and Master Degree in Music Education as well as a Bachelor in Harp Performance. With over 20 years of teaching and performing, I bring a well balanced approach to the lessons.

I have a deep passion for teaching. I started in the public schools and realized that I prefer to work with individuals and small groups
What types of students have you worked with?
I have had students of all ages, ability, from beginners through advanced players. I have started students as young as 4 and as old as 84.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I thoroughly enjoy or Annual Holiday Potluck when the students get to perform in a party setting. The Spring Recital is also a favorite. We get to see how the students have improved over the course of a year. This is a formal recital.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Take a trial lesson with the teacher to get acquainted and see if the personalities and styles work well together.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
My door is always open to questions. Please walk through it and speak up!
