How did you get started teaching?
I come from a family of educators and musicians.
I have always been fascinated watching my family members and my own teachers sharing their knowlegde, provoking students to critical thought and helping them realize their potential.
It is a mission I'm proud te be a part of.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students of all backgrounds, levels and with different goals.
Being a classicaly trained pianist, it's natural that most of my focus is in that field but I also teach non-classical repertoar such as pop songs and musical theater.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
LA Opera's Tosca production, to name one.
I always enjoy performances where the performer is pouring their heart on stage.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
I think it all depends on what a student's goal is.
Someone preparing to audition with music school, conservatory or college will not have the same path as someone who would like to entertain at an old fashion piano party, for example.
Whatever your goal is, look for a teacher who nurishes your musicality and appreciates your honest love for music.
