The Artsy Backyard
About
The Artsy Backyard is the place where art and fun meet. We encourage our students to fully explore their creativity through different techniques, methods, and mediums. We passionately believe that there is no right or wrong way to express yourself through art and we worked hard to create a space where artists of all abilities and ages can feel safe to explore their creative style.
We believe that beauty is in the eye of the beholder, and each person experiences art in a different way. We help every person realize their capacity to create and enjoy beautiful, unique, original works of art! No matter what you decide to create, The Artsy Backyard can make it happen.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Ronit holds a Masters in Education and was a school teacher for over 25 years, working with elementary and middle school aged children. It wasn't until Ronit took a painting class for fun, where she realized that she was skilled in the art and also deeply enjoyed it. This led to years of attending art workshops and going back to school to study Graphic Design at Otis College of Art and Design.
How did you get started teaching?
The Artsy Backyard was created in 2018 by Ronit Rozen as a way to blend two of her passions. Her love of teaching and her love of art.
Ronit decided to blend her past work experience with her new found passion, and opened The Artsy Backyard in her own home to provide a space for creativity and expression within her community. Shortly after, Ronit's classes filled up and she knew that expanding to a large studio would be essential to reach more people and to introduce them to the world of art. Ronit wanted to make her studio as accessible to her community as possible, so opening up her studio in the central Los Angeles, CA area was a perfect fit.
Being a woman and in her 50’s, Ronit was nervous about the venture. Although, she knew that a women owned creative business would allow her to step into her full potential and be an inspiration in her community for other aspiring female entrepreneurs.
