After corresponding with AJ of Skills Technique Guru I decided to give him a try. Per my request, we met at one of the many parks with public tennis courts, within a three mile radius of my home. I'd been attending a weekly group clinic at a park far from my home. I needed to find a GOOD coach to help me to fine tune every aspect of my game. AJ was prompt. We worked on simple steps for a basic forehand. These steps really made sense to me! I had that "AHA Moment!" I found AJ to be very patient and professional. He also made me laugh, which brought some fun to the lesson, and helped me to relax. I have already booked my next two lessons. Thanks AJ!

He was very thorough with his explanation on what my 3 kids were doing wrong. He focused on 1 issue they had and made sure they mastered it. My kids loved him and we will be coming back to him very soon.

AJ is an outstanding coach! I wholeheartedly recommend him. He was skillful, accessible, and pleasant. From racket selection to the fundamentals of hand and foot work, I felt completely comfortable despite being completely green to the sport. I highly recommend his coaching!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?

The website or app is not allowing some people to give 5 stars. Not sure why? However, I find out the students level and abilities. And find out the students goals. Write up a individual plane and give them a road map to improve their abilities.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have several top players in jounior USTA tennis. I simply get results because I love what I do. Currently I  train and coaching 3 nationally ranked tennis players in their respective age groups. I have  been coaching tennis for 11 years. All my athletes have earned scholarship. The USTA has interviewed me recently about my coaching and how I have gotten my players to succeed at such a high level.  The game has evolved and most tennis pros are still teach old techniques that will allow you to play and have minimal success. But they want help you masters the game of today. I not only understand todays game but I have developed new techniques that professionals have seeked me out for.  If you want to play and really enjoy today's game hit up A1 the guru I digress.

Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

50 - 150$ hourly depending on the level and what the student wants to achieve.

How did you get started teaching?

I have always been a coach my entire life. This Is my calling! I have a passion for what I do which is why I get the results. I'm not a salesman this is simply what I do.

I work with all types of students looking to improve their skillset. From beginners to professional.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.

Recently I had two students play in the national level 1 junior national tennis tournament. Which they will be professional tennis players soon

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?

My expertise will take you to any level you desire. Please understand I share the same passion and enthusiasm for your development as you do.

What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?

How can your teacher / coach develop a foundation to allow you to improve your skillset.
