About
Here at Learning Period we're all about 1) personalization and 2) efficiency. Our tutors will jump in, put your child at ease, and guide him or her through the session. The goal is to get you the most bang for your buck, and QUICKLY get your child on the path to independence and proficiency.
We were founded in 2011 by two high school teachers that were fed up with cookie cutter mandates and the limited amount of time available to offer individualization to each student. Our frustrations, however, allowed us to hone our skills in regard to moving quickly --again, we emphasize building that tutor/student rapport rapidly, as well as having the student be able ot work on their own as soon as possible.

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Knowledge is power. Knowledge is also how we go about sending out the right tutor for your child! Prior to your first session, we gather information about your child's learning style, habits, and areas in need of improvement. Using this information, we select the tutor who best complements the student.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Learning Period is founded by two credentialed teachers with 10 and 12 years in the educational field.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Rates are hourly, and are as follows:
Elementary school (Grades K-5): $40/hr
Middle school (Grades 6-8): $45/hr
High school & College (Grades 9-12+): $50/hr
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
The secret to effective tutoring is having a good fit between the student and tutor. Our advice when searching for a new tutor: ask questions!
