About
Hello, my names Tanner Negrette.
I played baseball for just shy of 18 years and have been coaching for about 6 (paid and volunteer). I teach fundamentals in all defensive positions, hitting, and the mental side of the game. All share their own importance in the game of baseball so I like to talk and teach all aspects of the game throughout our time together.
I will not only teach the fundamentals of playing baseball, but also work on the mental aspects of the game, sportsmanship and being a team player. I plan to encourage good characteristics such as leadership, courage, respect, and passion for the game. I put importance on family as well as faith / religion into my coaching style, and teach my kids about the process of working hard to become exceptional at obtaining the goals they set forth.
Its nice to see kids put in the effort and get better at something they're working on. Also a rewarding feeling to help my players make a high school / college team.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to find out what their strengths and weaknesses are in their own words. Then we can go into the fundamentals of whichever position they choose / hitting fundamentals. Visual learning and the mental side of baseball are important to me, so I use videos of both MLB players as well as other kids / players i’ve coached in the past.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I am about 6 years into coaching. From 6u travel ball, to High School assistant coach in 2018, as well as private lessons w players at the professional level today I have been involved in the game for about 21 years in total.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

How did you get started teaching?
I been around the game since the age of 4, after playing I realized I enjoyed teaching what I knew and learned over the years of playing.
What types of students have you worked with?
I’ve Worked with kids as young as 6 up to the college / semi professional level. I was the assistant coach at my alma mater in 2018 at Pacifica High, I worked specifically w our infield where we had our best team fielding % since I graduated in 2012.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Look for a coach / teacher that matches your personality as well as understands what you want to achieve as a player. Be honest with the coach / parents / yourself to get better in whatever aspect of the game you’re looking to improve.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What are my strengths and weaknesses in the sport, and also what do I plan to accomplish or get out of the training I receive.
