About

My goal is to help new artists fall in love with creating. I am passionate about painting and creating art. I can offer the foundational skills, encouragement, support and guidance to help you reach your full artistic potential. Mostly, you will find the joy in creating works of art!

I love to paint, but I really LOVE watching others create, especially for the first time! I love seeing the world theough other people's eyes, and the best way to do that is through art. I enjoy giving students a little nudge in the right direction and watching them take off in a unique and original way.

    Frequently asked questions

I like to get to know students by asking some questions about their experience, likes and dislikes, and the type of art styles and aesthetics they enjoy. This helps me guide the students toward art they will enjoy creating. I then like to do a few warmup activiries before diving into the lesson.

I have a bachelor's degree in education. I have taught painting classes in a variety of settings (including virtual) since 2019.

Lessons generally start at $30/hour. Groups receive a discount!

I was asked by a local brewery, who was familiar with my work, if I would be interested in teaching a "paint and pints" class. It was an immediate success!

I have worked with small children, school aged, adults, and seniors. I have taught students with limited to intermediate experience.

At a recent event at a retirement community, i taught an acrylic painting class. Several of the residents had never painted before. It was wonderful to see seniors trying something new, and experiencing the joy of creating art!

The most important thing to look for in an instructor is someone who isnpassionate about making art! This, coupled with a warm and encouraging attitude will guarantee a great experience.
