Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Sitting down with student/Parent to discuss their short and long term goals. Once I have an understanding of what we want to accomplish I will start with an evaluation to determine the students skill set. Once determined we will start with the fundamentals and build on that to develop the students skills.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I played 2 years of minor league baseball and have 15+ years of coaching experience from ages 6 to 20. I have coached 3 students that went professional baseball and several who went on to play collegiate baseball.

How did you get started teaching?
My love for baseball went from playing to coaching at a young age. I started out helping the local coumminity who needed coaches and I found I enjoyed teaching the kids and watching them grow throughout the season.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students of all skillsets starting with young kids who have never played the sport before up to collegiate kids who were experienced and needed fine tuning.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I worked with one student since he was 8 years old. Prior to his first year at Florence Darlington Tech College I worked with him as he was struggling with his hitting. After making some adjustments we saw great improvement. Taking those adjustments he later went on to break the school record for most RBI's in a single season. This led him to a full scholarship at Campbell University where he plays today. It was with great pride that I watched him grow from the young boy that I started training to the college player he is now.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure the trainer always resorts to the fundamentals and builds upon that based on the students skills.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Students should think about their short and long term goals with baseball. They should look at their weaknesses as well as their strengths to best determine their training needs.
