About

As a musician I am passionate about my craft and sharing it to others. My goal is make flute lessons educational, motivating and creative for each of my students. I always want to help my students out with the challenges they face and goals they aim to achieve with their musical skill.

I work with a variety of ages, from kids starting out in beginning band programs (Elementary & Middle School), to high schoolers aiming to improve their skills for honor band auditions, music in band class & other competitions that interests them. I also have worked with a number of adult students who either are picking the flute back up or wanting to try a new skill for their own enjoyment.

I enjoy seeing the progress and developing passion in my students. It's rewarding to know your helping out in making a difference in a students life by educating them about discipline, responsibility and creativity through music.

Frequently asked questions

First lessons will be mostly about getting to know one another. Is this your first time learning music? What level are you currently standing with your musical skill? What are some of the biggest obstacles you face in the practice room and in performance? What is it that YOU want to improve on the most? Is there any significant piece that stands out to you that gives you an interest to learn? I make sure I'm there for the students needs AND musical interests.

**Due to the COVID-19 pandemic** I know that meeting in person is a little nerve-racking for some & okay for others. During this time, I have opened both in-person & virtual options for my students. For my virtual students, I use the ZOOM platform for lessons & it's been super helpful to share my computer screen in our sessions to help explain certain musical concepts that are tricky! For my in person students, I wear a mask at all times unless I am demonstrating or playing along in the lesson. I also keep my students in a designated area & frequently sanitize inbetween lessons. I also make sure to spread out my inperson lessons, so that my students can avoid contact. This is not only for my safety but for YOUR safety as well!

I started flute at the age of 9. Originally wanting to play clarinet, I was chosen the flute instead due to my teachers advice. I was not the biggest fan of the instrument, but after starting private lessons later on really helped motivate me to get better with my performance skills and later on a perspective career choice. It wasn't the music I played or the major orchestra performances I witnessed that only inspired me, but it was my private teachers that helped motivate and develop my passion, work ethic and musical opportunities to pursue music as a life-long career.

I have worked with students ranging in ages from 6 to 70+ years. Currently my studio is working with kids in the elementary to high school levels and adults who are interested in getting back or improving their musical skill.

If you are looking for the right teacher either for yourself or your child, you want to find someone that's a good fit for you and the educational aspects that your looking for. A great dynamic of those qualities is a teacher you can communicate and get along well with as well as spend the time each week helping you (or your child) create and improve a musical skill that you aimed to achieve.
