About

Spreading the love of music is one of my core values. I began teaching private flute students in the early 2000's when I was studying flute performance at the University of Alaska, Fairbanks. I introduced many students to the flute, some as young as four year old all the way up to senior citizens. I also coached more advanced students in highschool. After I graduated from the University, I invested in several Suzuki teacher training classes ( books 1-3) with David Gerry through the Fairbanks Suzuki Institute. My teaching methods are a blend of Suzuki philosophy, my own experience, and the needs and goals of the individual student. I also have experience working with children with special needs and would love the opportunity to expand the confidence, skill and independence of flute students with special needs. While my husband is working towards his Master's degree in architecture, I'm working as an in- home caregiver for a young lady with disabilities. My husband and I moved to the Denver area in August of 2017 and I began playing with the Rocky Mountain Flute Choir several months later. Getting to know the flute community here has been a joy. Joy and a life long love of music is what I want to pass on to my students.
