About
Art is my world and teaching art is a passion. I am a professional artist and teacher. I teach at a local private school in Highlands Ranch, Colorado. I focus on drawing and painting. I teach Monday through Friday and have developed the curriculum at the school I currently teach. My students learn the fundamentals and art history. I teach the Old Masters and I move through art history to present-day art. I have a great deal of knowledge and love to share.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to get an idea of where the student is in their skill set as well as their understanding and knowledge of art. Through questioning I will design the lessons around the students needs. For an example of an excercise that I conduct there is a demo link below.

Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Denver Art Museums and The Monet Exhibition. I took my 5th grade art class to experience his exhibition. We had learned about the Elements of Art and Monet. The children, many had never been to a Museum got to see paintings up close and personal. The foundation that I had taught them helped them engage with the work and have a better understanding of Monets work.
The discussions and how engaged they were with the work was an incredible site. I was a very proud teacher !!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Find a teacher who is an artist first and a teacher second. The student will have an experience that is vital to his or her teaching. Make sure the teacher is passionate about his/her craft. Lastly they need to make it fun!! And remember, Art is in Everything !"
