Coach Bug - Private Basketball Instructor

Hello, my name is Bug Stroope. I have over twenty years experience in coaching basketball on multiple levels. In my younger years I worked for several Universities coaching in their summer basketball camps including University of Memphis, University of New Orleans and New Mexico Junior College. At NMJC I was a player as well as a Student Assistant Coach. I also went on to be the Student Assistant Coach and the University of Memphis. I took a break from basketball to have a Pro Snowboard career where I also coached a children's snowboard team. I returned to coaching basketball and have focused on kids 13 and under. I have and 8 year old son that I instruct and many other parents that would be glad to be used as a reference in my skills, my attention to deal and the success I have had with their children.

My sessions are based around what the player needs based on their age, skill level and understanding for the game. Everything is based off of fundamentals, so I coach according to that. I have multiple drills in all aspects of the game, but specifically, I have a way of communicating through my words and example. Especially, for younger players, I have had great success in connecting with them and helping them understand each step of their game. I listen, watch and find what the player needs. My session runs off of that information.
