About

- Music is for everyone at any age and any level.

- I meet each student at their goals by creating lessons that mix both fun and playfulness while integrating foundations in theory and knowledge of their instrument.

- At the end of they day, you are here to play music so I have my students play music on Day 1 and we just continue build knowledge over time.

- I am a jazz, soul, folk, and funk bassist + singer. I've been playing music since I was 5 years old, and now I go to MSUDenver for Jazz Performance on the upright bass. I was also a sound engineer at a local jazz club for a bit of time and earned my audio production certificate at Red Rocks and Warren Tech.

I love to share the joy of music and make music accessible to anyone.

Frequently asked questions

We first talk about what music inspires the student! Once we figure out what music the student enjoys, I will show the student how to play it; the songs they like, the theory on how the student can make their own songs in that style, what to listen for when learning their favorite music. Then I integrate some of the foundational side of learning like proper playing form, the notes placement of their instrument, and scales.

I've been performing since I was a kid, I played in orchestra, jazz band, and would volunteer at nursing homes to play music. I then went to trade school to learn audio engineering and became an engineer at a jazz club. Now I go to school for Jazz Performance and gig around Denver. I have taught people from different levels of music understanding.

I do half hour or hour lessons.

I had friends who wanted to learn music so I would teach them, I then realized how happy it made my friends to see them get excited about music the same way music excites me. So I just wanted to share the joy of music to others in a way that didn't intimidate or overwhelm people.

I've worked with children, teens, and adults anywhere from beginner to advanced.

I am playing a jazz festival which is exciting.

I would advise a student to motivate their learning by listening to music that inspires them and brings them joy.
