PAUL J WEBER FINE ARTS
About
I earned my Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree from the California College of Arts, where I studied Painting, Drawing and Printmaking with some of the CCA’s best teachers (Mary Snowden, Wiliam Kriz, William Willey and Wayne Thebaud to name a few) At that time I believed earning BFA in Film and TV and Glass Arts was more practical. I have, however, worked to produce art continuously since graduating and have a significant portfolio of work mainly focused on Watercolor and Drawing (in both representational and abstract genres.) Additionally I have significant understanding and experience with etching, serigraph and lithography. Although I have not achieved momentous commercial success as a Fine Artist I have had a few notable showings over the years at juried American Water color society shows, the Aaron gallery on Larimer Square (now nonextant) and “one man” shows at the Vail Public Library Art gallery.
After earning my Art Education degree at Metro State I taught for 15 years at three K-12 schools; Vail Mountain School, St. Mary’s Academy and Denver Academy. I have had many successes as a classroom teacher, recognized by Who’s Who Among American Teachers and by Vail Mountain School as Teacher of the Year but I am more proud of my successes in fostering capable people; the most notable examples were when my students were twice selected as winners in Greenwood Villages’ Museum of Outdoor Art’s Design and Build competition and when my program at Vail Mountain School and my students were recognized for excellence by Scholastic, Inc.
