Typically either a phone interview or a quick meet and greet to find out where they are with their skill set and where they would like to be so that we can focus on getting them to where they want to be with their photography.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have 23 + years of experience in shooting photos of anything imaginable. Anything from Club life and Raves low-light scenarios nightscapes stars and Milky Way photos. How did you get started teaching?

What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Make sure to hire a photography teacher or instructor that has shot many different genres of photography.
