What is your typical process for working with a new student?
Assess what the student wants out of lessons. See where student is at the start, then build a lesson plan around those 2 things.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Years around art. I have done; clay, jewelry, watercolor, wood burning, pastels, acrylic and paper mache.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Lesson are based of either 1/2 or 1 hr scale. They are set prices, but would change slightly whether my student wants me to provide materials or they buy them.
How did you get started teaching?
I love helping people develop their own abilities. Giving them the push they need to push themselves as well as the encouragement. There isn't anything better than to see where people start and how the progress.
What types of students have you worked with?
Young and adults
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Just make sure they are a good fit for what you want to learn, and you personally.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Know that there a thousands of ways to learn to do art better. No 1 way is better than the rest. You just need to be open to learning.
