Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I like to learn a little bit about the student, their interests, schooling, and musical influences. There is always something the two of us can bond over!
If the student has never played an instrument, we will dive right in to exploring and learning the anatomy of their instrument(s) as well as learn proper technique.
If the student has been playing for at least a year, we will look at their book system(s) and then play a piece they feel really accomplished on and go from there.
The first few lessons are always so exciting because we are both getting to know each other and show some of our talents (musical or not)!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Both my parents are classical musicians and I married a rock musician! One could say music is my first language.
I started my formal Violin training at age 3 (Suzuki) and Piano training at age 7; toured multiple countries from 5-12 grade; and was Concert Master in local, state, and regional orchestras.
I have a BA in Music w/a Violin concentration, as well as a BS in Human Development and a Dance Minor, from SUNY (State University of New York) at Binghamton.
I have played in International Orchestras in Europe; toured with Tommy Lee's (Mötley Crüe) side project Rockstar Supernova; been conducted by Dave Brubeck (Take Five) and the late Marvin Hamlisch; participated in a Led Zepplin Tribute Band w/members of The 10,000 Maniacs; was asked to be on America’s Got Talent; recorded on multiple studio albums (classical, fiddle, rock, Celtic) which have played on air; opened for groups like Tea Party; played numerous weddings; and was either Principle 2nd Violin or a 1st Violin Section Member of chamber-symphonic orchestras that include Musicals, Operas, and Ballets.
Since moving to Colorado, I have continued my education by getting certified in Musikinesis and study Dalcroze at The Dalcroze Center of the Rockies.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.

40/45 min = $40
60 min = $55
What types of students have you worked with?
I work with Kindergartners-Adults; beginners through advanced/professionals looking to hone their skills. I have taught individuals looking to play like Lindsey Stirling, play fiddle, move from their 2nd Violin section to 1st Violin section, become Concert Master, play in a rock band, learn movie score songs, play in worship bands, learn how to play chamber music (duos/trios/quartets), prepare for auditions, spruce up on a specific song for an event, you name it! We can make a game plan together to accomplish any goal!
