My current focus is directed toward artistic development. It is my intent to utilize personal experience and techniques that have been brewing in my work for several years and test them in creating distinctive and original images.
Art by 13 is an exploratory project that is ever evolving and branching out to new territories as time unfolds. 13 as a pseudo name subconsciously I use to allow myself to somehow disconnect the person from the work and allow for any preconceived notion of a constant and unchanging style or theme. The work is intended to be seen and enjoyed by anyone and everyone regardless of social class, race, gender, or age in an effort to convey a universal message to be seen and heard. Although we are each unique individuals there is the idea that we are all tied to the collective, and as such share a collective understanding. 13 is just meant to be a fluid and uncontrolled flow of consciousness converted to tangible visual art. The artist behind 13 uses a vast array of mediums and techniques to achieve an unending variety of visual effects.
Music, icons, history, literature, painters, and Jungian psychology set the tone of the project. These works exist between tragedy and humor, truth and fiction, insecurity and self validation. This artistic endeavor seeks to non verbally question the artist and the audience. Do we speak the same language? A blend of intentional and subconscious desires are released in a therapeutic display of concepts and statements imperative to the heart and soul of the artist. Each piece pays tribute to inspiring images and ideas perceived by the artist.
I want to help students develop a passion for art and ideas. Therapy and self expression are my purposes and I hope to share that and enhance happiness in others. I am currently developing a unique style and would love to share my techniques and let students know that they can be self taught and their art is unique and meant to be appreciated for what it is and what feelings it brings to them and the viewer.
I have been in the Denver art scene for 4 years now and currently work for Bitfactory Gallery where I show my art and recruit new artists. In addition to adult geared artwork I am also extremely interested in teaching young students how to create artwork and give them the encouragement to retain art throughout their lives.
I work for a non-profit, the Colorado Mountain Club full time as an accountant and suppliment my income with art sales.

It is theraputic and allows me to connect with my inner self. I enjoy the study of historical art. It gives me motivation to develop a one of a kind style.
Art has taught me many lessons that are generally just related to life as a human being.
I want to lift people up with art and share the knowledge I have gained in a true understanding of non-monitary activity.
