About
I taught middle school and High school art for 23 years, including special needs, Autism and Down's Syndrome. I work well with students, utilizing and teaching technical skills and creative thinking. Not only the "how" but the "what" and "why". Bringing out the creative skills.
I have a BS degree in teaching and Art with extensive experience in many areas including photogrpahy, drawing, painting, sculpture, fine craft, jewelry, and more.
When people aske what I like to do, I always go back to basic pencil and paper. I am proficient at realism but not limited to it. I love all styles and genres.
The last 20 years I taught at a private HS in Las Vegas, developing the program from the ground up and am very knowledgable about curriculum and supplies, enviorment and creativity. In the past I have taught home schooled kids and adults.
I am also experienced with 15 years of Advanced Placement courses in Drawing, Painting and Studio Design and would love to tutor those students. I included in my teaching knowledge of business in art, ethics, copyright and some technology. I do not build websites.
I love teaching. Watching students change and grow and learn, improving and understanding why and exploring new ideas and techniques. Giving students the base in whcih they can build their own journey, style, love and passion.
