J M Jensen Fine Art And Illustration
About
I have been studying art almost my whole life. I drew as a child and have been painting for twenty years. My studies lead me through an undergraduate degree in illustration and a masters in Painting. I have also been teaching art at the college level for 9 years now.
My curiosity leads me to delving into printmaking, digital illustration, sculpture, watercolor, pastel and many other art media. But my main love and passion is for oil painting. It has the riches and depths that I love and it has so much to offer.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
It's important to see what experience a student has and go from there. To make a paiting for example, we could do different techniques and processes based on the experience and strengths of the student. There are several different aspects that can be developed in the process such as color theory, drawing, paint application, understanding value, composition, etc. The process of making a painting will involve all of these and increase skill and understanding of these aspects of art.

I have recieved a Bachelors in Illustration at Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design. I recieved a Master's in Painting at Colorado State University. I have been a professor of art Since 2009.
What types of students have you worked with?
I have worked with students from across the spectrum. Some have been complete beginners and some have been advanced artists. I value working with every level of artist in their journey.
