I've been a Commercial Photographer over thirty years. I've shot photos for advertising all over the country in the studio and on location. I attended a formal Photography School to start my career. What is your typical process for working with a new student?
A conversation initially to find out what kind of photography they are interested in, and what they are hoping to learn. I like to find what level they are at before we devise a plan to accomplish your goals.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have an Associates Degree in Commercial Photography from the Art Institute of Colorado. I been an assistant, a studio manager and a studio owner. I've worked everything from the smallest still job, to large national campaigns, all the way to feature film.

$50 per hour
How did you get started teaching?
When I started in photography it was more of an apprenticeship process. I learned from amazing photographers, I've always helped my assistants and interns, so it was a natural process.
What types of students have you worked with?
The majority of students I have worked with have a passion to become a professional photographer.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
narrow down which path you want to pursue, there a lot different types of photography. Figure out what you feel you are missing in your direction to get where you want to be.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What they want to accomplish from taking classes. What skills they would like to learn.
