About

I teach art classes that are inspired by the incredibly powerful benefits that I've obtained through my 7 years as a painter. Art is more than a hobby, it's a therapeutic outlet, and I want to help other people realize their potential as artists to experience the same passion that I've found. I'm a self taught internationally published artist who specializes in acrylic, oil and watercolor painting but I enjoy teaching a wide spectrum of arts and crafts.

I love art and helping people realize that they have the talent to discover the artist that lives within them too. We all have creative potential and I love that people can find their own voice as an artist and develop their own style, which also helps them outside of the classroom in their day to day lives as well.

    Frequently asked questions

I generally will begin with a still life painting or pastel work (such as apples, a vase or some flowers) to gauge where the student is at in their artistic development if no prior suggestions are given. We then will advance to various other more difficult projects like landscapes, portraits and experimenting with a range of different mediums. If the student has a specific idea in mind of what they would like to work on, then we will get right to that without going through the process listed above.

I obtained a Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Colorado State University in 2015 which has helped me immensely with the therapeutic art classes that I teach. I also worked for around 3 years as an Art Program Facilitator at the nonprofit Envision in Evans, CO, where I taught art classes to adults with developmental disabilities. In addition to these qualifications, I have been a freelance artist for 4 years. My work has been internationally published and I have joined in around 20 art shows.

I began my business in late 2019 when I decided that I wanted to marry my passion for art and my conviction for helping people together, and teach art classes to show others how cathartic and positive art really is for all of us.

I have worked with a very wide range of students. I've worked with kids, adults, and the elderly. Many of my clients at the moment are residents of nursing homes in and around Greeley, CO. But I am willing to work with anyone.

One of my former students in a nursing home that I'm contracting with wrote me a "Star" that is displayed in the hallway to commemorate staff and residents who are fondly thought of by others. This was very humbling and made me happy that I have a positive impact on those around me using art as a therapeutic tool.

Look for people who have worked in human services/art therapy! Art is a wonderful exercise, but the teacher must also possess an empathetic spirit to truly teach the student and make a positive, lasting connection.
