What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
There is a missconception that art takes talent, or good artists are gifted. Becoming good at art takes work, focus, desire, and having the mindset that you can reach your potential. Just like learning to play the piano, you will need to practice the skills to get better. Be patient, try hard and you will see results.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
What do you want to get better at? for example portraits, anatomy, animals, landscapes, and what can they provide to make you reach your goal. Ask teachers if they can provide examples of their work or student work.
