Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
I will start with learning about all the gear you have, the photography you are most interested in learning, and what your current knowledge is thus far. From there, we will establish a structure to expedite your growth and help grow you into the photographer you’ve dreamt about!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I was the lead photographer for Vail Resort Epic Mix team for 3 seasons where I was able to work with dozens of talented photographers. We would challenge the team with new objectives and a fresh perspective with their photography helping them mature into professional photographers.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
I typically charge $40/hr for up to 2 hours in a session. Also have a discounted price for repeat students after 3 sessions.
How did you get started teaching?
Just fell into it kind of naturally while working at Vail Resorts and being surrounded by other like minded individuals.
What types of students have you worked with?
A variety of ages from 18-57 and from all walks of life.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
The US Burton Open Snowboard Championships is one of my favorite events!
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Be patient, and look for a passion that drives them. Not money.
