Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on Lessons.
How much do private baseball lessons cost?
Private baseball lessons cost$50 to $75 per 30-minute lesson and $80 to $140 per 1-hour lesson. The price depends on your location, the instructor's experience and reputation, the student's age, and whether the lesson includes extras like a video analysis of the player's performance.
Many coaches offer lower prices per lesson if you purchase a package that includes 6 or 10 lessons. The average package prices are:
6 pack of 30-minute lessons: $270 – $420
6 pack of 1-hour lessons: $450 – $720
10 pack of 30-minute lessons: $400 – $600
10 pack of 1-hour lessons: $700 – $1,100
Are private baseball lessons worth it?
Private baseball lessons may be worth it if your child currently plays the sport, loves it, and has expressed an interest in improving their skills and performance. Private lessons can help your child advance their skills, develop good habits, and avoid forming bad habits.
Motivation and a drive to improve are key factors in whether or not the lessons will actually help your child. It's important for your child to practice in between private lessons.
Children who receive private baseball lessons are usually more likely to advance to playing at higher levels than children who only receive group coaching during regular team practice. However private lessons don't guarantee your child will play collegiate or professional baseball.
What is the difference between private and semi-private baseball lessons?
In a private baseball lesson, the athlete trains one-on-one with an instructor who tailors the lesson specifically to their needs and skill level. In a semi-private lesson, two athletes work together with one instructor. Semi-private lessons, also called partner lessons, typically cost 10% to 20% less than private lessons. However, because the trainer's attention is divided between the two athletes, the athletes don't get the same level of individualized instruction as they would in a private lesson.
What age should you start pitching lessons?
Baseball instructors generally recommend that children start pitching lessons at around 8 to 12 years old, though there are no age requirements or exact rules. Learning fundamental pitching skills early on can help your child avoid developing bad habits that will be difficult for them to break later.
However, your child should not start taking pitching lessons until they are comfortable throwing the ball as well as catching the ball one-handed.

I initially hired Coach Brandon to coach my 10-year-old son in basketball, and it has been an outstanding experience. Coach Brandon not only possesses extensive knowledge of basketball fundamentals, but he also focuses on teaching my son the proper techniques for running and the importance of overall sports and agility training. His comprehensive approach has truly made him an exceptional and well-rounded coach.
Having gone through two other coaches prior to Coach Brandon, I can confidently say that he has brought out a confidence, excited eagerness to keep improving. My son feels incredibly comfortable around him, and this positive dynamic has greatly enhanced his confidence and performance. Coach Brandon's patience, kindness, and ability to connect with my son make him a standout mentor.
What sets Coach Brandon apart even further is his flexibility in scheduling. He has consistently worked around both my and my son's schedules, accommodating changes with ease and professionalism.
Coach Brandon embodies the qualities that define an exceptional coach: reliability, trustworthiness, strong communication skills, and a genuine passion for developing young athletes. He instills not only the specific skills needed for basketball but also essential life lessons, such as teamwork, discipline, and perseverance.
I feel extremely fortunate to have Coach Brandon as my son’s coach. He is everything you would hope for in a coach—supportive, knowledgeable, and dedicated to fostering a positive and encouraging environment for growth. I highly recommend him to any parent seeking a trustworthy coach who prioritizes the development of their child both as an athlete and as an individual.

My son was passionate about baseball but being 14 it was a tough age to start the sport. Fortunately we found Nathan. He not only shows a love for the game but he is very motivational and organized. He set a very detailed plan for the first month and is always telling my son that he can do whatever he wants as long as he puts his mind to it. Training is very complete and touches upon all the skills. Most importantly my son is counting the hours until his next session. Highly recommend him.
