Drills N Skills Basketball Training

Coach Kevin is tough, fair & holds the players accountable which i think is lacking in many aau and other training programs today. He pushes the player to not only prepare for the physical aspects of the game but also the focus that is needed for the mental part. He tailors the trainings based on skill level and not necessarily just by the players age or grade level. He respects each player and commands their respect back. You will often hear a Yes Coach when he asks if they grasp what is required of them. A great guy and great program for those of all ages looking to get better in all aspects of the game.

I liked how the training instantly translated to in game situations and in the game it feels very easy since I practiced it and worked on in. Not only in shooting but also dribbling, finishing, and even passing and has taken my overall game to the next level. I liked how hard I was pushed because it made me get out my comfort zone so I can grow even more as a player and even helped me build mental toughness.

Open communication and feedback regarding my ball handling skills. Appreciate how highly skilled and the ability to be a mentor and show passion for basketball. How dedicated and patient when teaching kids of all skill levels.

How time is taken to make sure my daughter understands and can demonstrate the drills put forth.

Although there are multiple athletes at any given session, Coach makes sure to give each athlete their own critiques and praise. He always asks what the individual goals are for your child then makes sure each session to build on those skills. He makes it comfortable for the athlete to feel safe but challenging enough to push them out of their comfort zones. My daughter has responded well to seeing the growth and trusting the process.

Coach Kev knows how to get results! He does group work but still can pull out the strengths of each child individually, and recognize where there are areas of growth. My son has been working with Coach Kev, and I can honestly say his confidence on the court, his skills overall, and his work ethic has progressed immensely! If you want a safe space for your athlete to learn the sport of basketball…It’s only one person/place I would recommend…. And this is it! :)

Coach Kevin has trained both of my boys for many years now, and it’s been truly refreshing to witness how much they’ve grown under his guidance.

Coach Kev is laser-focused on discipline, focus, teamwork, and execution. His approach to coaching isn’t a one-size-fits-all script—far from it. He observes each child or group, quickly assesses their strengths and needs, and then draws on his vast experience to tailor each session. It’s truly an art… poetry in motion.

What makes him even more special is how he connects with the kids. After spending enough time with Coach Kev, every player earns a nickname—something they all look forward to and cherish.

Thanks to Coach Kevin Kirksey, the world is now home to thousands of young men and women who’ve grown into well-rounded adults. And there’s no doubt in my mind that a part of who they are today is because of the time they spent with Coach Kev.
