Tennis And Basketball Coaching

I am actively involved in playing and teaching both tennis and basketball to all ages. In tennis, I have worked wjth children as young as 4 yrs old and as "old," as a young minded 91! I enjoy sharing my love for the game and bringing excitement and fun to the learning and competitive nature of the game as an individual sport. I challenge and draw out all who work with me to find the desire for self improvement. I am a past top twenty player in the USTA New England Section Men's Open Division. I have played both domestic and international tennis tournament events sponsored by the USTA amateur, futures, and satellite circuits and ITF satellite and challenger tours in Canada and Mexico.

My tennis certifications are with the PTR and USPTA tennis teaching organizations. I am ambi-dextrous and bi-lingual. My second language is Spanish. As an international exchange student while in college I lived and worked in Medellin, Colombia, S.A.

I have been teaching tennis for over 20 years. I have worked at Saddlebrook Resort, home to Harry Hopman's Tennis Academy/Palmer Tennis Academy, Nick Bolletieri's Tennis Academy, now known as IMG Academies, a multi-sport facilities complex in FL, as well as tennis clubs in Maryland and Connecticut.

My basketball resume includes playing in the ASICS Summer Pro Basketball League in the NBA VETERAN DIVISION, intramurals , assistant manager at East Catholic High School during thei school's most dominant era when we reached the state finals five straight years, winning the title my freshman year and the championship game again the year after graduating.

I have been a coach, scout, player evaluator affiliated with New England Sports Promotion in basketball, baseball, girls fast pitch softball, football and field hockey. Am presently a volunteer at the Wilson-Gray YMCA in Hartford, Connecticut youth group basketball program. Past shooting coach to the Harford Lightning of rhe Atlantic Coast Professional Basketball League. Am a 98% free-throw shooter. Ambidextrous out past the NBA three point line. I have worked with children as young as 4 yrs old through post collegiate, semi-pro and pro basketball players.

In baseball, I have been an All Star player from Little League through high school summer league. Played on the local J.C. Courant League championship team and batted .500. My great uncle played for the New York Yankees and was with the organization for 55 years!

What I do best is instill in my students to strive to reach their individual potential, to pursue an ideal regardless of the area of pursuit and how to better enjoy the journey through the process of striving for perfection and giving everyone the permission to make more mistakes, to double their failure rate to accelerate the learning curve!
