About

My photography has enhanced my life in so many ways. I see in composition, nature calls me to LOOK and I see the smallest details that so many people miss. A smile, a frown, a shift of emotions captured on a child's face or even your pet. The opportunity for great photography is everywhere.

I have worked as a staff photographer for news sources throughout Connecticut and nationally, and my pictures have been seen in other countries as well.

For twenty years, I was an architectural and interior design photographer. I have photographed balls and weddings, meetings and theatre, concerts, conferences and sporting events, rock stars, business executives, poets and activists.

I began my career with a travel photography job and I am about to embark on a new travel photography job.

Anyone can teach you the mechanics of photography. I can teach you to see what others miss. There is never a moment when there is nothing to photograph. Turn your eyes on with me.

I love working with clients who come to me as absolute beginners and then begin their love of photography. They send me their photos for critique or just to share pictures they love. I watch them begin to explore life on a deeper level, pay more attention to details. Sharing my passion for beauty and watching others discover that passion in themselves is everything.

Frequently asked questions

Lessons begin outside or in an architecturally stimulating indoor location with exercises that encourage a new way of viewing the world. Composition, color, light are all discussed and on the spot photography are part of that first experience.

Many students come to the first lesson with the need to understand their camera and the basics of photography. That typically takes about half an hour to 45 minutes and from there, the photography begins.

Classes continue on location and involve exploring indoor and outdoor lighting challenges and how to make those challenges a stunning aspect of your work.

Further classes will push the student towards a creativitity they did not realize they could achieve almost instantly. This new way of seeing will carry over into other aspects of students lives and work.

We will photograph people including candid photographs and portraits, sweeping environmental shots and up close and personal.

Classes can include one student or as many as four and classes can be tailord to a student's interest.

Students will be encouraged to show their work, discuss their work, and review other's work.

Students will learn editing techniques, those extra special steps that make even student work look professional.
