How did you get started teaching?
Most of our instructors have been in healthcare their entire careers and bring a wide experience base to the classroom. We all enjoy teaching because we have done the skills we teach in the real world and know that they work. There is no greater joy for us than to have a student return and relate their story of saving a life using the training that they received from us.
What types of students have you worked with?
We work with all types of people. Families, corporate first aid teams, child and daycare providers, emergency responders, and healthcare workers. Our team has the experience to give a great course to anyone that joins our class.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
When you are considering a training provider, choose someone with a brick and mortar facility. Having a physical location shows that they are a stable company that will be there long into the future.
Be leary of independant trainers that work from their home or car and only have a cell phone to reach them. NEVER pay cash! Always use a credit card, check, PayPal, or some method that can be tracked.
Also, make sure that the course card is from a nationally recognized organization like the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, etc. We are an American Heart Association Training Center as well as an American Red Cross Licensed Training Provider, and and ASHI national training center.
