My teaching style is 100 percent song-based. The goal for learning guitar is to understand that technique is the song we enjoy to listen to. It makes sense, right? Why would listen to awful guitar playing? While exercises are important at times they are not the basis for learning guitar. Most students tend to learn from teachers that don't understand this concept. I look forward to teaching you any style you want to learn!

What is your typical process for working with a new student?
100% of my instruction is focused around song-based learning. There is no "magic" in learning to play music and the guitar. It all stems from listening and learning what you hear vs complex technical exercises and long hours of practice.

How did you get started teaching?
I have been teaching guitar since I was 15. It was a window into learning what I was doing on the guitar myself. It helped me to undertstand how to communicate and help others do what I was doing on the instrument.
