About
As a fine artist, my work is in international, private and public collections, having exhibited my work in over ten museums worldwide. I have a thirty year history with mentoring and teaching high school students, assisting with university and grad school portfolios as well as teaching adults.
I work with beginners and advanced students in drawing, painting, illustration, mixed media and printmaking, teaching them how to create, how to see and how to critique their work! My students have gone on to their own professional careers in the arts. My goal is to help instill confidence, skill and understanding of specific media in a supportive manner~
Everything! I feel honored I was given a gift to be an artist as well as an educator, and I have pride in the work my students do as Inwork with them! I have worked primarily with adults and teens/college aged students. Many of my students have now gone in to their own illustrious careers! If you have the passion, I can teach you! Check out my website, which offers a few of my works...

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new student?
First, it's important for me to know if the student is a complete beginner, or what previous experience they have had. I work with all stages of development. I have never had a student I could not teach to draw!!! I like to know what the student is interested in drawing, painting, printing or collaging, and then we go from there. It is important for me to know these things so I can devise the right curriculum for each individual student so they will have fun and success!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have the equivalent of my PhD in any other academic field. The terminal degree for fine artists is the MFA. I have been an internationally exhibiting artist and educator for over thirty years, teaching and working with students of all ages, across countries, states, schools and communities! I also work in a variety of media, so students often work with me for all different types of styles and range of media.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Yes. My fee is $100/hr. For individuals, groups 4 or less. For larger groups, we can discuss rates accordingly. I work with corporate groups for 'art outings' at $1000./day. Weekend workshops for groups are booked at $1000/day plus expenses.
Art writing, including critiques, artist statements, reviews, jurying etc are billed at different rates depending on the specifics. These rates start at $150/hr.
