About

I believe each student is on his or her own musical journey, whether they want to become professionals and make a living at it or just want music to enrich their life.

As a music educator, I bring a strong and refined ability to connect with students, inspire them, hone their specific needs and goals and work with them to expand their knowledge, polish their technique and progress as musicians. My own journey has brought me to this point via 30 years of intensive study and thorough practice, both in classrooms and practical experience – performing in many venues such as concert halls and festivals all over the Northeast and as far away as California, as well as producing, composing, arranging and orchestrating.

George is an amazing musician and a great guy. I bought some guitars as artwork in my house because I’ve always thought they were cool. The only problem was I didn’t know how to play them at all like 0 and it certainly was obviously that I have no natural ability. I know lots of friends that play at really high levels but I knew hanging around them I would never learn anything because it would turn into a social event. I knew I needed a teacher, a real teacher. I found George on this site and luckily he lives only minutes away. From day one he was sure that I learn something at every lesson. Difficult task as I’m not a good student and my attention span is pathetic. If I’m not good at something right away I loose interest. George is so patient and supportive that I won’t give up. I only have time for one lesson a week sometimes less due to my job but lessons with George are one of the few things I look forward to going to.
    Thanks

He breaks down the music and techniques of how to create the sounds I want from my guitar. He can also listen to a piece of music I want to learn and can know right then what notes/chords are being played. I’m always amazed at how easy he makes it look. I’m very lucky to have found such a great musician to be my teacher.

George is a guitar Jedi master. Vibe and connection are important with any kind of mentor/teacher, especially so with music, and hes definitely easy to connect with. Hes super friendly, humble, patient, and possesses a deep knowledge of all things guitar.
Hes a masterful player and guitar teacher, and working with him has leveled up my skills immensely. He always challenges me with just the right song or new technique, thats just hard enough to help me pick up new skills, but within reach of my abilities.
    HIGHLY recommend him!

George is a very encouraging instructor, teaching song that you want to learn as well as what he recommends. He can listen to a song and write it out on the spot in both Musical notation as well as guitar Tablature. Teaches patience and timing. I would recommend George as an instructor to anyone,

His willingness to share his wealth of knowledge. George has the patients of a Special Ed teacher. When you’re having difficulty with understanding parts of your lesson, George will take extra time to explain and or demonstrate the song, scale or chords etc for you.

I started out by teaching friends when I was around 19-20 years old. I also taught while I was attending school over the years. It simply became part of my path, and I have been teaching ever since.

I work with beginners, to advanced Jazz, Blues and Rock students.

    In regards to music,

What moves me, what style of music do I love, What do I listen to for enjoyment. What singers, bands etc?

Is there a specific curriculum I need to follow, or audition I need to prepare for?

Do I write music/lyrics? John Lennon and Paul McCartney were 15 and 16 when they started writing together.
