2 - Choose the proper equipment.
3 - Discuss safe practices (including rules).
4 - Work together on the foundations of archery using the National Training System "Steps of Shooting."

Ric is a USA Archery Certified Level 3 National Training System Coach. Jennie is a USA Archery Certified Level 2 Instructor. We both have 15+ years of experience as an archer and an instructor.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your lessons? If so, please share the details here.
Standard pricing is $40 - 50 per lesson (1 hour +) for individual lessons, depending on equipment requirements and location. Group lessons are lower per individual.
How did you get started teaching?
We started teaching years ago when our children and their friends became interested in archery. We have continued our passion for archery and teaching throughout the years. Beyond our private individual and group lessons, we currently teach at a summer camp in the Litchfield area and we teach at a local archery club in the JOAD (Junior Olympic Archery Develoment) program.
What types of students have you worked with?
Students of all ages and skill levels - generally 8 and up (we can talk about younger potential archers). We find groups of varied ages work well together. Family gatherings where kids compete with Grandpa can be very rewarding. We work with target archers, 3D archers, and hunters alike - it's all the same sport and foundations. Whether its an explore archery event for newcomers or a longtime hunter looking to refine his or her skills - We are here.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
In archery, its amazing to me how people of all ages and abilities can excel. Recently, I have had the opportunity to explore archery with a young man who shot as a child and has since lost the use of his dominant arm. Together, with the use of some hand-tailored, adaptive equipment, we are re-opening the door to the world of archery.
What advice would you give a student looking to hire a teacher in your area of expertise?
Have Fun! Work with someone who is going to have fun with you and help you be the best you can be. Make sure you have great equipment. Make sure you have an instructor you would like to work with. Make sure you are safe.
What questions should students think through before talking to teachers about their needs?
Ask any questions you want. No question is a "bad" question when you are picking someone to work with you.
